This month has been nothing short of a RODEO of new projects, side hustles and adventures out west--but I was lucky to squeeze in a quick project for my sweet (and lil') friend Lola. Lola is a bona-fide cowgirl, but additionally creates amazing abstract acrylic pieces on canvas. She needed a "grown up" studio space with a desk and a refreshed look in her bedroom. I married rustic textures with bright patterns and bohemian motifs to create a simply styled space she can create and rest in! Check out the full flip below! P.S. We did it all for under $300.

Recognize this pillow? See the steps to make it here! I layered a cozy quilted throw from TJ Maxx over printed sheets with a pop of coral lumbar pillow for the perfect clash! Lola's mom Hannah is a major vintage collector, so this amazing brass bed was already in her stash of furniture!
Paint supplies were stored out of reach of little brother hands on short barn wood shelves and economical white brackets from Lowes. I wrapped a large piece of house siding insulation (green foam) in drop cloth canvas to create an oversized mood board.
This desk was a free sidewalk find I spray painted gold. Doesn't it pair perfectly with this vintage office chair -- yes it's velvet -- and it was only $3!!!
Lola's amazing coral dresser was existing, but you can easily recreate the look with a thrifted dresser and a quart of custom tinted paint!
Lola quickly painted an abstract piece for this thrifted frame, and I tucked one of my own botanical paintings below it.
No bohemian room makeover is complete without a hanging macrame planter!
I found both of these brown rattan pieces at a thrift store for a few dollars each. Yardsale books painted white make great risers for small dishes and decor.
I made this custom poster print on a 8.5x11 sheet of paper to fit in a larger floating frame. I'll have a version available for download soon!
This was a great project to prove simple can be stylish, and sometimes it just takes some fresh linens and a pink throw to make a room feel brighter! What's your best budget makeover? Share your link in the comments below.
