Lettering and Watercolor by Lindsey Crafter

Clearance Craft : Target Style D.I.Y.

MATERIALS

Gauze Scarf ( Target Clearance )
Embroidery Floss ( 2-5 bundles depending on number of tassels )
Matching Thread

Make several small tassels by wrapping embroidery floss around your fingers about 16 times

Tie off loop at the top with floss ends hanging down

Smooth down threads and tie off head of tassel

(Trim all tassels evenly before sewing to scarf)

Lay scarf out flat and distribute tassels evenly along length , use a ruler if needed.

Using matching thread stitch each tassel onto scarf hem and knot.

Use one thread color or three! Ten tassels or twenty!

See!? EASY

Hey Girl, It's Valentine's Day : Printable Valentines

Free Printable Valentine's Day Candy Bar Wrappers

You can't rush love, but if you tend to procrastinate your Valentine's Day shopping you might find yourself without any treats for your friends! Print out a few of these free candy bar wrappers to add some pizazz to a bar of chocolate in under five minutes!

Free Printable Valentine's Day Candy Bar Wrappers

I used an assortment of Trader Joe's Chocolate bars, but I made the printables extra long so they can fit various bars and you can trim as needed!

Cut each wrapper to size, wrap the bar and tape in place!

CONVERSATION HEART Piñata DIY : XOXOXOXO

SUPPLIES

TISSUE PAPER OR CREPE PAPER
SCISSORS
RECYCLED CARDBOARD
FRINGE SCISSORS
DOUBLE SIDED TAPE OR GLUE
PACKING TAPE
SCRAP PAPER

USING A SCRAP PIECE OF PAPER (I USED A SCRAP OF PRINTER PAPER) CUT A SYMMETRICAL STENCIL HEART IN YOUR PREFERRED SIZE.

TRACE TWO HEARTS FOR THE FRONT AND BACK OF YOUR PINATA

PIECE TOGETHER LONG STRIPS ( ABOUT 2" IN WIDTH) TO CREATE THE GUSSET OF YOUR PINATA.  THIS STEP IS THE TRICKIEST , SO BENDING YOUR CARDBOARD BEFORE HAND HELPS MOLDING AND TAPING IT TO THE CURVES AND CORNERS.  I RECOMMEND TAPING YOUR SIDING STRIP TO ONE FACE OF THE HEART BEFORE ATTACHING THE SECOND HEART AS A "LID".  LEAVE A FLAP UN-TAPED TO FIT IN GOODIES BEFORE APPLYING YOUR FRINGE!

USING FRINGE SCISSORS (THANKS MARTHA STEWART) CUT FRINGE FROM CREPE STREAMERS OR WRAPPING TISSUE TO CREATE YOUR FIESTA FRINGE!
IF YOU DONT HAVE FRINGE SCISSORS, OR THE STAMINA TO HAND CUT FRINGE, YOU CAN ALWAYS FOLD UP YOUR TISSUE PAPER AND CUT LARGE RECTANGLES TO LAYER.

USE DOUBLE STICK TAPE OR GLUE TO START APPLYING YOUR FRINGE FROM THE BOTTOM UP.  EACH LAYER SHOULD OVERLAP BY 1/2" , BUT TEXTURE AND DENSITY IS ADDED BY DOUBLING UP LAYERS --SO BE SURE TO MIX UP YOUR SEQUENCING.

TO FINISH OFF MY CONVERSATION HEART I USED THESE ADORABLE LETTER STICKERS FROM THE TARGET DOLLAR SPOT TO WRITE MY VALENTINE A MESSAGE!

XOXOXOXOXO

MODERN QUILTER

Dying to try my hand at crafting modern quilts--I love these examples of geometric samplers and free form patch-working.  I've got years of fabric scraps and swatches I think would fashion an interesting throw….or at least a fun Anthro inspired pillow!
