Trimmed Out Slippers with Minnetonka Moccasins

This post is in Partnership with Minnetonka Moccasins. All opinions and ideas are my own.

During the winter months there’s nothing better than cozying up with a mug of hot chocolate and a new series to binge-watch on Netflix! I like to slip into something a little more comfortable (and fabulous) after work, so I trimmed-out my classic Chesney slippers with my favorite colors and textures (tassels and velvet of course).

The Fine Art of Paper Flowers : Interview with Tiffanie Turner

Crepe paper flowers by Tiffanie Turner

Have you ever stood in front of a painting or looked at an image online and wondered how it was physically possible that someone captured something in such a hyperrealistic way without photographing it? When thumbing through Tiffanie Turner's new book, The Fine Art of Paper Flowers, I had the same reaction, "How is it even possible that these are paper?" In addition to sharing all of her techniques and easy-to-trace templates in her beautiful how-to book, Tiffanie graciously answered some of my craft questions! Scroll down for our interview and links to her new book!

15 Vintage T's for Everyday Wear

Moving back down south to the family farm often means arriving home after meetings with clients to goats running amok or pups jumping up on your pants with muddy paws. Working on more projects that require "getting messy" clothes while also appearing presentable has been a challenge, but I've adopted a new uniform of distressed denim and T-shirts that makes getting dressed in the mornings easier. Paint splatter doesn't seem so noticeable on distressed jeans and t shirts, and the look can be dressed up in a pinch with some heels and jacket. With the revival of vintage graphic T's come racks of cheesy reproductions...but here are some that make the cut!

Make a hand-quilted baby blanket

Have you ever found precious baby moccasins or handmade dolls at a boutique and just WISHED you knew someone with a kiddo so you had an excuse to but it (sometimes I just do...I.E. unicorn doll)? At the beginning of the Summer we found out one of my best friends is expecting and needless to say I'm EAGER to help nest.

Refreshing Summer Sips

Between week-long monsoons we're experiencing the typical sweltering hot/humid days here in GA -- Though it doesn't even TOUCH the humidity we endured during our vacation in NOLA last week. To beat the summer heat I've gathered the most DELISH drinks and floats I could find on pinterest to share with you. I can't wait to try each spritzy and boozy beverage. Each of these also incorporates seasonal fruits, herbs and berries you can find at your local farmer's market! Click through to the original posts and recipes on each of these featured libations.

Boho Teen Treehouse Makeover with World Market

This post is in partnership with Cost Plus World Market, my favorite place to shop for specialty foods and home decor. All opinions are my own.

It took all of two seconds to sell my 14 year old sister on letting me "flip" her childhood treehouse. It sits adjacent to a wood-clad barn nestled between a few unruly Crepe Myrtle trees and overlooks the rolling pastures of our family farm. Basically it was BEGGING for a makeover. Thankfully my friends at Cost Plus World Market loved the idea of updating this space for outdoor living and I was able to find all the inspiration and outdoor decor I needed to transform this dated treehouse into the boho teen hangout of our dreams.

Spring Garden Style

It's the first day of spring and I already have a few seeds sprouting in my mini greenhouse! Here are a few garden essentials you might need if you're considering starting your own garden this season!
Collection of garden tools you'll need to start a spring garden

Lightweight greenhouse

This is a great little greenhouse for under $60. It's tall enough to walk inside of and tend to plants comfortably. Just be sure to stake the structure down or keep in your garage, it's extremely light weight and might blow over with strong winds ( I learned the hard way) .

Floret Farm's Cut Flower Garden Book

I used Floret Farm's free online tools to plan my cutting garden and I can't wait to learn from their new book!

Spin Style

Right after I moved to GA in December I decided to start a new good habit to get me through the transition: spin! I've heard some describe soul cycle as an addictive workout...and I've never had a gym membership in my life...but when my local gym started offering drop-in spin classes I was hooked. I love walking away from stressful tasks for 45 minutes, spinning out my frustration, and then getting back to work with more energy and focus! Now that I'm attending a fitness class twice a week (woah) I've invested in a few workout essentials. I'm linking to some of my favorites below!

A curation of cool workout wear to sport at your weekly spin class
