Anyone else hoard makeup as a hobby? Even though I don't wear makeup everyday I still get sucked into all of the beauty tutorials on Pinterest and Youtube! Each season I try to freshen up my look--so
I've partnered witClear Eyes® to share a fun DIY to get you ready for the Fall!

Switching up your makeup routine is a great way to transition your look each season. I've always had a penchant for bright colors and decided it would be fun to find a way to create my favorite eyeshadow colors for a quarter of the price! You can find eyeshadow powders (or micas) in every color and finish under the sun-- see how to make your own pressed eyeshadow pallets below!

What You'll Need to Make Your Eyeshadow Palette

Cosmetic Grade Mica Powder
Pressing Medium
Empty Cosmetics Compact
Mixing Spatula
Rubbing Alcohol
Paper Towels
Small Dishes or Plates (for mixing powders)Make your own DIY pressed eyeshadows
1. Micas are typically sold in 5 gram measurements. You'll need different amounts of mica powder depending on the size of your container, but I experimented with about half a bag for each color I mixed.  After pouring the mica powder into a small dish or plate, add a few drops of pressing medium ( this helps the mica bond when dry) and a few drops of alcohol. Mix the mica with a stir stick or spatula until the consistency is smooth and holds it's shape.

2. Scrape the paste into an empty tin or clean cosmetics compact and smooth with the spatula. I created three bars by using a stir stick to form neat vertical rows within the compact.

3. Use the bottom of a glass or piece of cardboard wrapped in a paper towel to press down the pigment, absorb the excess liquid and create a pressed eyeshadow. Keep the compact open and allow the remaining alcohol to evaporate overnight before using your eyeshadows!

Keep these colorful fall eyeshadow pallets and in your makeup back for bright eyes on the go!
Won't these eyeshadow pallets make perfect stocking stuffers! I'm excited to experiment with creating my own blush/bronzers next!

After washing and moisturizing my face, I used a few drops of Clear Eyes® Pure Relief™to feel alert and more refreshed--especially since I tend to get itchy irritated eyes throughout the day. I applied my go-to highlighter and blended a few eyeshadow colors from my new pallet into the crease of my eyelid with a large eye shadow brush.

I printed out this coupon and picked up my Clear Eyes® Pure Relief™ Multi-Symptom at Walgreens
along with a fresh Fall lip color to compliment my new eyeshadow pallet.

  1. How fun! I've never known how to make eyeshadow before, and especially didn't know it wasn't super complicated! Love this idea--and yes, what a fun and unique Christmas gift too! ~ Client
